Mark this day in your calendars; I actually finished a unit!  And of cavalry!  And with pink facings, in an homage to our dear Archiduc..

Les 7e Chasseurs au Cheval, two squadrons of which made up part of Maurin's 9th Light Cavalry Brigade in the Leipig campaign.

GdB Maurin surveys his charges.   My first attempt at basing Napoleonics using tufts and static grass.

Robert! You glorious chastiser of serfs!
Well done! I am impressed both by the volume as well as the quality of your work!

Where does your inspiration come from? First the Japanese for Bolt Action now the chasseurs... are you really the Robert I knew?

The one and the same!  A lot of it has been finding a painting technique that I was happy with (especially for horses), and the fact that my working hours are more stable now than they had been for a long time, so that I can get some regular painting time in.

Aside from the Japanese which I really want to get done by the end of the year, Napoleonics are still in play.  I've some cuirassiers on the workbench, the Prussian artillery (I'm waiting on bases from Litko), and  have been experimenting with Army Painter Quickshade for French and Russian infantry.
